Anthony Hanson MW, who will be conducting the Hospices de Beaune auction of 2012s for Christie's this weekend, adds to Burgundy 2012 – a difficult birth:
Please allow me to take issue with some of your comments on the 2012 European wine harvest in The wine lake is decisively drained. I believe that some errors crept into your overview of what happened, at least in respect of Burgundy.
I declare an interest, as we at Christie's are presently involved in describing the 2012 Burgundy vintage, and in particular the Hospices de Beaune wines, ahead of the 152nd Beaune charity...
