According to the Hugel & Fils blog, picking will start today in the Hugel vineyards in Alsace. Among the myriad wine blogs, this one – in several languages – is really worth looking at for an insider's view of the harvest. Just the right amount of detail, well written, and with links to even more detail such as a table showing the changing sugar and acidity levels in the grapes. And if tables aren't your thing, there are pictures and a fascinating video interview with Johnny Hugel, who has seen 59 vintages in Alsace.
