Parker's Critic at Large is none other than our Neal!
Wild and wacky (well, wacky anyway) Neal Martin has entertained us all hugely with his anarchic site www.wine-journal.com, a mixture of enthusiasm for fine French wine, weird music and even weirder humour painting himself as a sort of Holden Caulfield of West Norwood.
A few weeks back Robert Parker (know him?) announced that he was about to hire a Critic at Large and we all speculated that this could be Michel Bettane et al. Well, it's not, it's a Brit. And it's our Neal.
Well done, Neal! Let's hope you can smooth some of those troubled transatlantic waters that are supposed to be so choppy when American and British wine critics are involved. I have tried to do my bit. See today's New York Times.
