Three very, very different California wine producers compared.
The launch of the latest vintage of Opus One, the first under the aegis of the new CEO, is a grand affair. The offer of Opus One 2018 on the Bordeaux Place two weeks today is heralded by a full-colour booklet that runs to 54 pages. Christopher Lynch, who seems to have worked at most of the world’s major wine companies, took over from long-serving David Pearson almost a year ago at the helm of this landmark winery, pictured above, so famously founded back in 1979 as the first Bordeaux–California joint venture...
