Anthony Hanson MW now spreads his work life between overseeing his magisterial book Burgundy, looking after Christie’s interests in London and France, especially now that they have taken over the Hospices de Beaune auction, and the UK wine importer and retailers Haynes Hanson & Clark. For many years he campaigned against the increasingly prevalent practice of showing burgundy en primeur in London every January in favour of showing the wines once they were in bottle every September.
Now he has bowed to the inevitable so that HHC hold a January burgundy tasting along with so many other importers...
