Over the years I’ve been intrigued by the Anderson Valley, in Mendocino county way north of the well-trodden wine roads of Napa and Sonoma. Navarro Vineyards’ dogged embrace of keenly priced Riesling and Gewurztraminer caught my attention many years ago. (Our picture shows the typically laid-back Navarro team: Ted Bennett and Deborah Cahn plus Aaron and Sarah Cahn Bennett.) And a Navarro Pinot Noir was my wine of the week back in 2004.
