I hosted a tasting for the most extraordinary London wine club the other day. The Red Herring Wine Club is run by my fellow Master of Wine Conal Gregory, once a Conservative Member of Parliament.
The club, a non-profit, was founded in 1968 ‘with the intention of helping younger professionals (notably accountants, architects, lawyers and medics) to understand wine’, then viewed as a rather exotic commodity in the UK.
