Chave Hermitage prices all over the place

The Wine Society of Stevenage, the gentlemanly wine buying co-operative formed over a century ago at the Albert Hall in London, comes out particularly well in a comparison of the prices currently being asked for J L Chave's red Hermitage 2001.
The Wine Society is offering boxes of six bottles for just £300 in bond but delivered. This would work out at around £723 per full case with all UK taxes and duties paid.
Meanwhile Chave's official UK importer is asking £85 inclusive a bottle and rationing out full cases to faithful Chave customers who would be asked to pay...
