DRC's 2001s

Feb 14, 2008 – Last night I went to a fascinating tasting comparing DRC's Echézeaux and La Tache in 2005, 2001, 1996 and 1990 and will publish my tasting notes very soon. But I thought I'd look up my iniital notes on DRC's 2001s and came across the article below written in 2005, which for some reason was categorised 'Private', so has never been published.
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti 2001 Montrachet 18 Drink 2008-14
Bright gold. Very pure and thick with a beguiling nose. Some spice with all the green fruits. Mid to heavy weight. Bone dry – still quite astringent. Mid length. Great...
