Jancis writes The exhilarating number of high scores at the top of the German and Austrian whites sections of this collection of 161 tasting notes on assorted wines from German-speaking countries is testament to the sheer quality coming out of top German cellars – although admittedly some of the vintages in question are relatively mature. It’s interesting to note a brace of enthusiastic reviews of 2002s, for example, not a particularly famous vintage.
