The winemaking Martin family in the Mâconnais have been busy. Their original 27-ha (67-acre) holding at Domaine de la Croix Senaillet (pictured) in Davayé, specialising in St-Véran, was extended in 2015 with the addition of the 13-ha (32-acre) Domaine du Mont Épin 20 minutes away in Clessé producing Viré-Clessé.
Both domaines are now certified organic – Mont Épin in 2019. No other Mâconnais producer has as much as 40 ha (99 acres) of certified organic Chardonnay, in this case...
