Last week Robert and Pat Parker made their first trip to Spain since the early 1970s – thanks to the enticement of Pancho Campo MW and his WineFuture conference in Rioja, where around 1,000 top drawer wine professionals from 50 countries converged on the conference centre in Logroño to attempt to look into the future. It provided a great networking opportunity, and, incidentally, Parkers had an audience with the King of Spain the Tuesday afternoon before the conference.
