The majority of these 116 wines from some of South Africa's finest producers were tasted at two events in London towards the end of last year, one organised by independent retailer Handford Wines of London SW7 and the other by importer Awin Barratt Siegel. Both have experienced and wise buyers for their South African ranges: Greg Sherwood MW, himself a South African, at the former, and, at ABS, Richard Kelley MW, who lived and worked in South Africa for many years and was responsible for bringing Chris Alheit's Cartology into the UK and to my enthusiastic attention.
