Southern Rhône 2005s – a second tranche

Some more tasting notes on the toothsome 2005 vintage, in the Southern Rhône this time. See also the second tranche of notes on the Northern Rhône. The majority of them are from Julia Harding (JH). Wines are listed as usual alphabetically by domaine, whites before reds.

65% Grenache, 25% Syrah,10% Carignan. Dense black fruit and vanilla (but there are food smells in the background as I taste, so my sense of smelll may be distracted). Firm and dry, tight, not much pleasure yet. Good fresh...
