There are considerable positives to be taken from the 2019 vintage in the southern Rhône. Crucially for producers, the crop was healthy and yields were back to normal after the paltry pickings of both 2017 and 2018. The potential quality is high, in some cases exceptionally high. It was a vintage defined by an extremely dry summer with several unprecedented heat spikes that caused some concern.
