Superior South African whites
Tuesday 2 September 2008
Here are notes on about 80 South African white wines tasted blind last May, in groups by vine variety, for British Airways First Class. Considering how impressive some South African Chardonnays and Chenins can be, I was generally disappointed by those submitted below. On the other hand, the Sauvignons and Semillons were pretty good, and overall I gave a total of five scores of 17.
Notes are presented by variety and then alphabetically by producer (sur)name.
