VDP Nahe turns 100 in style

On 28 December 1911, a small number of growers from what today constitutes the Nahe wine region got together to set up an organisation through which they would jointly and on a regular basis auction wines in barrel from the current vintage. On 6 January 1912 they received official approval of their application by the government, and four days later the association of auctioneers of natural Nahe wines (Verband der Naturweinversteigerer Nahe) was founded.
