Barolo 2011s at Fine + Rare

Although there was the odd disappointment, this collection of Barolo 2011s assembled in London by Joss Fowler of Fine + Rare – thereby proving that even the fine-wine traders are looking far and wide outside Bordeaux – was a real pleasure to taste.
He had assembled more than 80 wines in all but I concentrated on the 64 that were not included last December in Walter’sinitial report on Barolo 2011.
Although the summer was relatively hot, there were hardly any overripe notes, and producers seemed to have paid great attention to retaining freshness. Most of the wines said 14.5%...
