Langhe – not just Nebbiolo

I must admit that I am so focused on telling you the latest about Nebbiolo in its Barolo, Barbaresco and (more and more) Alto Piemonte form, that I tend to turn a blind eye to the Langhe’s far more affordable wines such as Dolcetto and Barbera (the wines of the aforementioned Alto Piemonte remain a steal). 

My reluctance is partly because I believe that Dolcetto is often treated in step-sisterly fashion as ‘something to drink right away’, as suggested by a short fermentation on the skins...
