Screwcaps – great for thieves

The managing director of Australian synthetic cork manufacturer Nukorc – sorry, NuKorc – finally caught up with my article Will our grandchildren need a corkscrew? and has just sent me three tightly typed pages of comment.
In short, he claims that they have worked to make NuKorcs easier to extract and reinsert, that NuKorcs have a better record of preventing oxidation than other synthetic corks and that the hot potato of potential problems of reduction under screwcaps referred to in my article was "discussed extensively in the corridors" at the recent screwcap application workshop at the Australian Wine Industry Technical...
