This current champagne release from Krug is absolutely stunning. I urge you to seek it out if you are a fan of top-quality champagne.
Clos de Mesnil is a four-acre walled all-Chardonnay vineyard in Mesnil-sur-Oger from which Krug has been making a single-vineyard Blanc de Blancs for a couple of decades now. They are always fine – sometimes too much so. But the inherent delicacy of the grapes together with the ripe classicism of the 1990 vintage makes for an extraordinary combination.
