Leroy celebrates two anniversaries this time

Most of the many producers whose wines are described in our nearly 30,000 burgundy tasting notes I visit every autumn and have done for many years. But there is one producer I have managed to visit only twice ever to taste out of barrel – because when I enquire about a visit the owner is generally absent when I’m in Burgundy. 

But as of 6 July, I am in the rather strange position of having attended as many grand celebrations there as I have paid visits to taste wine from barrel. Those with long memories may recall my 2015 account...
