Georgia, Croatia and Hungary have a long history of winemaking. I could have put these books with the Old World reviews, but it many ways it seems that we are rediscovering the wines of these countries, and in some ways they are rediscovering themselves after long periods of war, communism and struggle. Carla Capalbo's book could also just as easily have fitted in with the food-book reviews, so rich was her coverage of Georgian cuisine.
