Domaine de la Romanée-Conti's 2007s

Sadly for Jancis, happily for me, Jancis was not able to go to the new-release tasting of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti's 2007s chez London agent Corney & Barrow because of a prior commitment with her mother in Cumbria. Not a bad gig in itself but not quite as good as mine. A highly recommended way to start the week.
Co-owner Aubert de Villaine, pictured on the home page, described the wines as ciselé, ie 'chiselled', and highlighted three critical points about the vintage at DRC (for general background to 2007 burgundy, see Jancis's article Burgundy 2007 – the verdict):...
