New Year's Eve treats

Rodrigo's account of a recent meal in Brazil inspires the following extremely self-indulgent post which should on no account be read by those who believe firmly that excessive consumption is not a spectator sport.
The wines below were enjoyed with:
-toast generously larded with Caspian caviar which I now realise was a very, very naughty thing to consume but, I must admit, I was very pleased that caviar exports were banned only on 03 jan
-a first course which included Mersea oysters, potted Morecambe Bay shrimps, smoked David Farqhar salmon, smoked eel and creamed, locally-dug horseradish
-beautifully...
