See my take on this in wine news.
I tasted 98 of the 250 wines glorified with tre-bicchiere/three-glass status in this year's Gambero Rosso guide to Italian wines 2003, including:
- Alto Adige (all reds)
- Piemonte (just those from producers new to the guide)
- Lombardy (all wines)
- Emilia Romagna (both wines)
- Tuscany (all wines)
- Umbria (all reds)
- Marche (all reds)
- Lazio (both wines)
- Abruzzi (both wines)
- Campania (all wines)
- Basilicata (all wines)
- Puglia (all wines)
- Calabria (the wine!)
So my big lacunae were white wines in general, Friuli in particular, the islands and most of Piemont....
