Nick has done something amazing for the UK charity for the homeless. He has somehow persuaded 28 of the world’s most highly regarded chefs to contribute to The Crisis Cookbook, which goes on sale this week at Marks & Spencer for the ridiculously low price of £5, with £3 per copy going to Crisis. As he says, he was inspired when he first helped out at Crisis over Christmas – they provide tens of thousands of meals to the homeless as well as help with medical and social aspects – and admits that the book is “the result of the friendships I have made with chefs around the world writing for the Financial Times”.
This nicely designed paperback comprises 84 recipes, a favourite starter, main course and dessert apiece, from 28 top chefs including Mario Batali, Paul Bocuse, Sally Clarke, Alain Ducasse, Mark Hix, Simon Hopkinson, Tom Kitchin, Rick Stein and Alice Waters, which have been converted into an easy-to-follow format by cookery writer Silvija Davidson.
If you can’t reach an M&S, you can order it from www.amazon.co.uk. Amazon currently claim that they can't guarantee delivery in time for Christmas but Nick assures me that they should be receiving stock today.
