Basic, sometimes too basic, dry whites

I'm afraid, being a northerner born not that long after the war, I had 'waste not, want not' drummed into me. So today I am sharing with you the notes I took  in March at the last tasting we undertook in the cellars of Buckingham Palace of whites submitted to be served at large royal receptions. There is a fairly tight budget for these, since the media would soon castigate the Queen if she were too profligate, but even so I must say I was disappointed by too high a proportion of the wines submitted.
