The Bernkasteler Ring, founded in 1899, is the oldest of Germany’s current wine associations that once every year sells a selection of its finest wines by auction. Its membership has grown from the original magnificent seven to today’s 34 estates. Proof that the organisation is not averse to accepting new talent in its ranks is the addition of the highly rated growers Philipps-Eckstein of Graach, Richard Richter of Winningen and Gebrüder Ludwig of Thörnisch in 2014.
