There was a time when global conglomerates seemed the most interested parties hovering over the carrion that is the world's wine business. But the likes of Constellation and Foster's have been desperately trying to divest themselves of their unprofitable wine subsidiaries and today's news reminds me that the new corporate marauders in the world of wine are competitive individuals, typically Americans.
