11 apr: This is my first set of tasting notes on the 2004 Bordeaux primeurs and will be followed by others over the next few days, leading up to my overview on Saturday 16 apr.
This set of wines was rather heartening – especially since the top two, Ch Margaux and now Ch Palmer, are obviously on such fine form. A number of wines are truly expressions of Margaux, while a few others are more expressions of winemaking. The surprise was Rauzan-Gassies, and Lascombes seems to be settling down after a few uncertain vintages. Giscours has done well.
