This is the first of two collections of tasting notes taken at a major blind tasting of the ten-year-old 2006 bordeaux on my birthday in late April at the smart new Thames-side offices of fine-wine traders Farr Vintners. Last year our group of wine professionals tasted a similar array of almost 100 wines from the precocious 2007 vintage. Next year it will be the turn of the much more stately 2005s.
