I have just received the first of what will doubtless be a deluge of emails today from wine merchants trying to flog the 2006 bordeaux on the strength of Robert Parker’s pronouncements on the vintage just out. Needless to say, the highlighted RP phrase is “the 2006 vintage has produced many fine wines and overall, it is superior to 2004……2006 appears to be a modern-day version of 1996 or 1986”.
Firstly note those dots. I have not received my copy of The Wine Advocate yet but I bet there is lots of cautionary stuff about not needing to spend...
