Jancis writes: And they’re off! The first few prices for Bordeaux 2011 were announced yesterday, the majority being petits châteaux and more are expected, which is why we are kicking off our many tasting articles with the one devoted to the Médoc and Haut-Médoc appellations with Moulis and Listrac.
These lesser wines cost almost as much to produce as a first growth yet sell for relatively modest prices. The best of them can be some of Bordeaux’s few bargains – but in 2011 it is much more difficult to pick out plums than it was in 2009 and 2010.
