These 80 or so generally very well-made wines at the bargain end of the Bordeaux price range were all tasted in London over the last two weeks or so. Most of the cask samples shipped to me were undated but I noted that one or two carried worryingly old dates, some as old as late March. I have always spelt this out when I could and noted that if the sample was unimpressive, it may not necessarily be the wine's fault.
