Burgundy was looking lovely last week – all autumn colours, cool, crisp mornings and warm, sunny afternoons. Despite the rains, there was quiet satisfaction with the quality, if not quantity, of the 2010 harvest. I was there to taste the 2009s that will not be shown in the mêlée of Burgundy 2009 tastings in the second week of January 2011 in London and will as usual be publishing my full report on the vintage towards the end of January.
