It was recently North America’s turn for a red wine tender for British Airways First Class (see the results of a recent similar tasting of Australian reds). The whites tasted previously were very disappointing (see here) but the reds were considerably better – even if in a handful of cases I felt insulted that someone had bothered to submit them at all. They must think either that we are terrible tasters who don’t actually notice poor quality, or perhaps they think we don’t bother to taste at all and just give the bottles submitted to our friends.
