A remarkable blind tasting of more than 100 top Australian wines was held in London last week, unparalleled either in Australia or elsewhere. I shall be reporting in more detail on the conclusions to be drawn from it in wine news on Saturday 22 may but in the meantime here are my tasting notes with ratings, up to five stars. Since this was supposedly Australia's finest, stars of the so-called Langton's classification drawn up by Australia's prime wine auctioneers plus hand-picked others, I thought ratings out of 20 might result in unseemly clustering around 18.
