Beautiful Marche has it all: a breathtaking coastline on the Adriatic; tranquil green hills where vineyards are not the dominant crop but part of a broader, gentle agricultural activity; largely untouched, rugged mountains that separate it from Umbria; and, last but not least, cities such as the Renaissance jewels of Ascoli Piceno and Offida. It is still genuine and largely undiscovered.
I selfishly admit that I am not too bothered by the fact that it is not exactly overrun by tourists, although, from an economic point of view, I can imagine that the Marchegiani would rather have it differently. One...
