Today iconic if far-from-untroubled British retailer Marks and Spencer launch quite an exciting initiative, selling a raft of 2014 red bordeaux that they bought en primeur two years ago. The 2014s are looking increasingly attractive to lovers of drinking, as opposed to investment, claret, as I reported recently in Bordeaux 2014 retasted in London.
Rather confusingly, they are calling it their En Primeur Bordeaux offer, which Bordeaux-watchers such as myself would expect to be of the 2016s that are the subject of the current en primeur campaign in Bordeaux. Britain is awash with merchants – and some dodgy operators...
