Dry River of Martinborough, where Dawn and Neil McCallum have been producing Pinot Noir and Riesling in particular of a quality and consistency unparalleled, I think, in NZ, has just been sold to an American interest. This should have no effect other than beneficial on quality, I'm told. The idea is simply to release capital for the investment necessary to improve wines, vines and winemaking yet further. The McCallums will very much remain in residence.
