Well our contentious old friend Porcupine Ridge Syrah 2003 is now safe from collapsing on the shelf because of the arrival of the Porcupine Ridge Syrah 2004 Western Cape which is very much more concentrated and healthy-tasting. At £6.99 (not £5.99 as I stated orignally) chez Somerfield in the UK, it is worth recommending as it is still more European than Australian and from the gentle hand of Marc Kent of Boekenhoutskloof, South Africa’s king of Syrah. This is a great-value second label.
