The more I taste, the more enthusiastic I am about the 2006 vintage throughout the Rhône. There is richness here, and juicy fruit, and no shortage of generally flaterringly ripe tannin too. You can find so many wines with real personality, of all three colours, many of whose prices compare extremely favourably with what we are likely to see from Bordeaux this year.
