Things are looking up for the UK retail behemoth and its wine-loving customers, as its competitor Morrisons falls into American hands.
Sales for Tesco, the UK-based supermarket group, in their financial year (53 weeks) to 27 February 2021 amounted to a staggering £53.4 billion – an increase of 7%. Group profit before tax was down by 20% on the previous year but Tesco still made a profit before tax of £825 million. These are pretty encouraging figures after the year of disruption we have all endured.
