Will 'Jesse' Jackson move that mountain?

The super-fastidious New York Times published a story on Sunday in which writer Frances Dinkelspiel detailed the opposition in northern Sonoma County to Jess Jackson’s bid to have Black Mountain, located east of the town of Geyserville and north of Healdsburg, in Alexander Valley, renamed Alexander Mountain.

Jackson, whose family of wineries totals more than 30, including Kendall-Jackson, in 2009 asked the US Board of Geographic Names to change 3,100-foot-high Black Mountain, whose name dates to the late 1800s, to Alexander Mountain.
