Young ones' Beaujolais
Long-standing Purple Pagers know that we have long championed better-quality Beaujolais as one of the wine world's great bargains. These are not minor wines; the only thing that's minor about them is their prices. These are the sort of wines you can open without worrying about whether the occasion is grand enough to warrant your pulling the cork on them. As I argued in France's wine orphans, this is one wine style that I actually think is underpriced.
