Argentine icons – and some other wines

A recent tasting in London of self-professed Argentine ‘super reserves’ was quite patchy and revealed one of the downsides of a generic representative body such as Wines of Argentina (WoA). The UK arm of the WoA does a great job in promoting Argentine wines but cannot, for political reasons, decide which wines genuinely deserve to be described as ‘super reserves’.
