Our corner of the Languedoc still produces a great deal of wine, even now that the EU as succeeded in persuading a substatial proportion of vignerons to uproot their vines. But it is not easy to find famous, smart wine there.
Fortunately Purple Pager and proprietor of the Minervois estate Ch St-Jacques d'Albas Graham Nutter has an unusually fine wine collection and both this year and last organised a themed vertical tasting during our stay.
