What a busy day yesterday! First I had to give a talk on Global Trends in Wine at Excel as everyone was preparing for the three-day London International Wine Fair, which opens there today. Then I had the pleasure of experiencing the efficient combination of Docklands Light Railway and the overground railway to get me to the first of London's two concurrent natural wine fairs. It was less good at transporting me to the main event of the day, John Avery's memorial service in the church of St James Garlickhythe opposite Vintners' Hall, so I had to walk there...
