Julia writes Séguier characterised 2019 as a dry, warm, sunny year. Budbreak was eight days earlier than average, on 25 March. April and May were fresh with some frost and while the frost did no immediate damage, it did disrupt the flowering. This combined with the heat of July and August reduced the size of the crop.
